This map displays locations and values from a comprehensive database of measured bioturbation intensity (Db), burrow ventilation rate (q1 and q2) and the mixed depth (L) of marine soft sediments compiled from the peer reviewed scientific literature.

These data provide reference information that can be used to inform and parameterise global, habitat specific and/or species level biogeochemical models that will be of value within the fields of geochemistry, ecology, climate, and palaeobiology.
